How to receive your Tiara?

Our tiara represents our salvation. It guards our minds and tops our armor just like the helmet Paul described in Ephesians 6.

"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints ... " Ephesians 6:10-18 NKJV

While I styled my hair each morning, I prayed putting on the helmet of salvation - thanking Jesus for all His sacrifice and work on the  cross paying for my sin and asking Him to help me guard my thoughts.

An Ah-ha moment hit. I didn’t identify well with putting a helmet on my beautifully coiffed hair. So, I prayed asking my Father for different metaphors. I needed to remember He was my Father, who saved me from my sin daily. So every time I styled or even touched my hair, the tiara came to mind. It was the beginning of consistently recognizing all God has done for me—us.

For a more detailed understanding on our salvation, let’s start at the beginning.

Not long after the creation of Adam and Eve, sin entered the world through disobedience. Adam disobeyed God. Have you ever done that? Did you disobey God or break one of the ten commandments?

Yep. Me, too.

That was all it took to disqualify me from a  relationship with God. Worse than that, the Bible says that the consequences for sin is death. And worse. Everlasting death.

But God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to step down from all the glory of heaven, and enter life on earth as a human baby. He grew up, lived a perfect sinless life qualifying him to pay for my sin. He allowed Himself to be crucified to pay for the sin of everyone in the world. He paid the whole price for our sin.

It’s a free gift.

Just like any gift. The giver can stand there holding it all day and it doesn’t belong to us until we receive it. How do we receive the gift of everlasting life, everlasting relationship with the Creator of the Universes? It’s as easy as ABC.

Admit to being a sinner. Agree with God that we have disobeyed Him.

Believe Jesus paid the price for us.

Confess - Say a prayer like this:

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior  and Lord (boss) and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.

Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.

Amen.
